1/2 tsp Diamond Dust Mica

Prior to starting you will need to clean & sanitize your work area.  Also, all of your packaging materials. We recommend that you wear gloves, protective clothing, and a hair net while preparing this recipe.

Step 1:  Use a double boiler to melt the olive oil, sweet almond oil, grapeseed oil, avocado oil, cocoa butter, shea butter, emulsifying wax, and beeswax.

Step 2:  While you are waiting for your oils, butters, and waxes to melt, get out a mixing bowl.  Use your scale to weigh out 896 grams of white sugar.

Step 3:  Add about ½ tsp of Diamond Dust Mica to the sugar.  Use your hands to mix the mica into the sugar.  You want the mica evenly dispersed in the sugar.  Set aside for now.

Step 4:  When the oils are melted, add 100 grams of the red wine as well as the red and purple soap colorants.  Mix well to disperse the ingredients.

Step 5:  Let the temperature drop to 120 degrees.  Add the Christmas Cabernet Fragrance Oil, Optiphen, and vitamin e.  Mix to incorporate.  Note: Do not add the Optiphen below 120 degrees or you may experience separation.  If it is added above 140 degrees, you may burn off the preservative.

Step 6:  Next, add the sugar and mica mixture you prepared earlier to the oils.  Mix well to incorporate.

Step 7:  Let the scrub drop to room temperature.  Then, add it in your jars.  Place the white dome lids on top.
