Ziplock Bag or Decorating Bag
Pot (For Double Boiler)

To Make the Cupcake Bases:
Step 1:  Prepare your cupcake mold.  You will need two votive wick pins.  Place one wick pin in the center of each mold.

Step 2:  Using your scale, weigh out 7 ounces of Pillar of Bliss Candle Wax.

Step 3:  Melt the wax using a double boiler method to 195 degrees.  Add 2 drops of brown Spectrum liquid candle dye and 1 drop of black liquid candle dye.  Stir to fully incorporate the color.

Step 4:  Allow the candle wax to cool to 180 degrees.  Then, add 0.7 ounces of Santa Snacks Fragrance Oil.  Stir well.

Step 5:  When the temperature drop to about 140 degrees, pour the wax into the cupcake bases.  Let the cupcake bases to set up.  If you pour it at a hotter temperature you will risk melting the mold.  Then, remove them from the molds.

To Make the Santa Hats:

Step 1:  Melt 10 ounces of Joy Wax. Once melted to 200 degrees, remove 3 ounces of wax and place it in your small mixing bowl.  We will use this for the white portion of the Santa hat.  When the temperature drops to about 175 degrees, add 0.3 ounces of Santa Snacks Fragrance Oil.

Step 2:  Allow the wax to begin setting up to a slushie consistency.  Whip the wax with a spoon or fork.  Now, place the wax on the base of each cupcake.  This should resemble the white portion of Santa’s hat.  You want to leave about ½ ounce of wax to be used for the two balls that go on the top of each hat.  Set the remaining wax aside, we will come back to it.

Step 3:  The remaining Joy Wax will be colored red.  It will be used for the red part of Santa’s hat.  Once the wax has reached 200 degrees, and you have removed enough wax for the white portion, add 4 drops of Spectrum Liquid Red Candle Dye and use a toothpick to add a small amount of black liquid candle dye. Stir well to incorporate.

Step 4:  Allow the temperature to drop to 175 degrees and add 0.7 ounces of Santa’s Snacks Fragrance Oil.  Stir well.

Step 5:  We will be piping the red Joy Wax.  Once the wax has a thin frosting consistency, place it in a ziplock bag. Then, cut the corner of the bag.  Pipe the wax on top of the cupcake.  You want the wax to resemble Santa’s hat.  You will want it to be wider at the base, and narrower going up.  It will be sort of a triangle shape.

Step 6:  For the next part you will want to wear gloves.  Using the leftover white wax, create two white balls by rolling the wax in the palms of your hands. Place these on top of the red wax.

Step 7:  Once set up, remove the wick pins and thread the wick through the candle.

Your Santa Hats Candles are now ready to use!  Enjoy!
