Step 1: Prepare the Sunflower Wax: Use a double boiler to melt 30 grams of sunflower wax. Once melted use a toothpick to add a tiny bit of purple Spectrum Liquid Candle Dye. Mix to incorporate the color.
Step 2: Next, add 3 grams of Plumeria Fragrance Oil. Again, mix to blend the scent.
Step 3: Now, line a pan with wax paper. Then, pour a thin layer of the wax into the pan. Once the wax has setup, but is still warm to the touch. Remove it from the pan. Cut petal shapes out of the wax. Then, two circles. Set these aside for now. We will use them in a later step. Note: You will have more petals than needed. Some of them will be used to top our candle.
Step 4: Repeat the first three steps two more times. For one round use one drop of purple colorant. For the second round use a toothpick to add a tiny bit of burgundy colorant.
Step 5: Prepare your candle jar. Use a hot glue gun to adhere two CD-12 candle wicks to the bottom of your jar. You want them to be centered and straight. Remember, as you are pouring your candle layers, you will want to keep them centered and straight.
Step 6: Prepare the Purple Layer: We will start with the first layer which will be colored purple. Weigh out and melt 3 ounces of Joy Wax. Add 2 drops of purple Spectrum Liquid Candle Dye. Mix to blend the candle colorant.
Step 7: Then, add 0.3 ounces of Plumeria Fragrance Oil. Mix well to blend the ingredients. Then, pour the wax into your jar. Straighten the wicks and allow the wax to setup.
Step 8: Once the wax has setup, you will begin adhering the flowers to the jars. So, you will press a circle that you cut out of the sunflower wax against the glass. You want to hold the wax in place pressing gently so that it adheres completely to the inside of your jar. Then, place the petals around each circle, in the same manner. You want it to look like flowers are going all the way around the jar. My jar had a total of six flowers. However, the amount of flowers you will be able to place around the jar will depend on the size you choose for your petals.
Step 9: Prepare White Candle Wax: Weigh out and melt 11 ounces of Joy Wax. Once melted, add 1.1 ounces of Plumeria Fragrance Oil. Pour the wax into the jar.
Step 10: Now, prepare your whipped wax. Weigh out and melt 8 ounces of Joy Wax. Then, add 0.8 ounces of fragrance oil and mix. Allow the wax to begin to setup. Then, use a spoon to whip the wax. Once your wax is whipped, place it on top of your candle.
Step 11: Finally, sprinkle the remaining petals on top. Press them into the wax slightly so that they stay in place. Then curl your wicks by wrapping them around a pencil.
Your Plumeria Candle is now ready to use! Enjoy!
