Prepare Your Peeps Embeds:
Step 1: You will need a total of 8 Peeps for this recipe. You can create them in any color you choose. Each Peep embed will require 40 grams of melt and pour soap. When creating this recipe, we will be making two Peep embeds in each color. So, begin by melting 80 grams of Oatmeal melt and pour soap in your microwave. Melt the soap in 30-second bursts, until the soap is melted. Be careful not to overheat your soap base.
Step 2: Once melted, add 4 grams of Yummy Gummy Fragrance Oil. Stir the soap to incorporate the fragrance Oil.
Step 3: Next, use the guide above in the “Total Recipe Weights for MP Soap” to add your color. Again, mix to incorporate the soap colorants.
Step 4: Now, pour the soap into two cavities of the Peeps mold. Then, spray the soap with rubbing alcohol to release any air bubbles.
Step 5: Repeat steps 1-4 until you have created all 8 Peeps in the various colors. Once your Peeps have setup, remove them from the molds.
Step 6: Coat your Peeps Soaps with granulated sugar. Simply spray one side of each Peep with rubbing alcohol. Then, sprinkle them with sugar. Let them dry before turning them over and spraying the other side. Finally, repeat this process to cover the edges in sugar.
Prepare the Cold Process Soap:
Step 1: First, prepare your lye solution. Weigh out 517 grams of distilled water.
Slowly add 188 grams of lye. Mix well to dissolve the lye. Also, remember to always add the lye to the water. Never add the water to the lye. Allow your lye temperature to drop to room temperature. Once your lye solution has cooled add 43 grams of sodium lactate and stir.
Step 2: Prepare your oils and butters. Weigh out and melt 136 grams Sweet Almond Oil, 340 grams Coconut Oil 76, 163 grams Grapeseed Oil, 340 grams Shea Butter, 272 grams Palm Oil, and 109 grams Castor Oil. Once melted, allow them to cool to room temperature.
Step 3: Prepare the cp soap colorants. You will need 5 bowls. You will later be adding about 225 grams of soap batter to each bowl. Make sure the bowls are large enough to add this amount. Below will outline the colorants we used for this recipe.
Bowl 1: 5 grams Neon Yellow FUN Soap Colorant
Bowl 2: 5 grams Neon Pink FUN Soap Colorant
Bowl 3: 4 grams Deep Purple FUN Soap Colorant
Bowl 4: 4 grams Neon Blue FUN Soap Colorant
Bowl 5: 15 grams Titanium Dioxide mixed with a small amount of your oils to create a paste consistency and remove any clumps.
Step 4: Once both the lye solution and oils have come to room temperature, pour the lye solution into the bowl containing the oils. Stick blend to emulsify them. Then, add 84 grams of Yummy Gummy Fragrance Oil. Again, stick blend to emulsify.
Step 5: Now, you will need to separate your batter. You will need the five bowls containing the colorants. Add 225 grams of cp soap batter to four of the colorant bowls you prepared. The only exception is the bowl containing the titanium dioxide. Once you have separated the four colors, prepare your white batter. The batter remaining in your large bowl will be white. Add the titanium dioxide to this bowl. Stick blend to incorporate the titanium dioxide.
Step 6: Next, separate out 225 grams of the white soap batter. This small amount will be used for the swirled portion of your soap. The larger portion will be used to top your soap. Set this aside for now.
Step 7: Begin mixing the other colorants. Start with your lightest color and mix each bowl using your stick blender.
Step 8: For this step, you will need an empty bowl. Pour the contents of the five small bowls into the larger bowl. You want to pour one color in the bowl. Then, pour the next color right on top of it. Continue until you have all five colors in the bowl. Then, use your rubber spatula to swirl the soap. Start in the center of the bowl and move your spatula in a clockwise manner.
Step 9: Now, pour the soap batter into the square loaf mold. Then, place the remaining white soap batter on top. You want it to look like marshmallow fluff. Then, place the Peep embeds on top.
Step 10: After 24 hours remove the soap from the mold. Once it has hardened a bit, slice the soap. Once it has cured, it is ready to use!
