I don't know if I just got a bad gallon of this palm oil but it completely ruined a 43 bar batch of soap by being insanely grainy. Now mind you, I ALWAYS melt my palm oil and shake the living heck out of it before I use it. Once my batch was ruined I went to see if it was user error and heated and mixed the oil much hotter than melting point (melting point of palm oil is 95F and I heated it to around 130F) and the stearic acid just would not incorporate at all. It's like I dumped a bunch of sand into it. I tested it in a batch that I gelled and gelling it removed the gritty sand problem but I usually do not like to gel my soap and I don't like that now I have a gallon of palm oil sitting around that I can't use in anything but gelled soap.

Packaging issues!

I love this and its performance in my soaps. My complaint is the packaging. The small bottles are fine, I just fill the sink with hot water and put them in for a while. I'm nervous about the gallon jug though. I like to melt all the oil in my container. Maybe I could keep the smaller bottles and transfer it to them. I'll figure it out.
