Golden Food's Soy Wax 444- 1 Case

A case of Golden Brand's soy wax is 45 pounds.

Details:  Golden Brand Soy Wax 444 is a container candle soy wax that has a natural soy based additive that helps the candle absorb more fragrance oil and helps to reduce soy wax frosting.  Golden Brands 444 soy wax will melt more slowly than Golden Brands 464 soy wax due to its higher melt point.  This soy wax is also used by some of our customers for candle tarts. The  soybeans used to make this soy wax were grown in the USA!

Directions and information:  Heat soy wax to 185 degrees F.  Add coloring.  Add 1.5 oz. of Natures Garden concentrated fragrance oil of your choice, stir.    Heavier fragrances (fragrances with higher flash points) can be added at 185 degrees F.  Lighter fragrances (fragrances with lower flash points) such as citrus type fragrances, should be added at around 160 degrees F.  Allow your soy wax to cool at room temp until it reaches 110 degrees F.  Your wax will be slightly slushy in appearance.  Pour soy wax at this temperature into candle containers.  Allow to set up at room temp.

Note:  Do not get your soy wax hotter than 200 degrees F or it may begin to discolor.  It used to be thought that adding fragrance to soy wax at a low temperature would prevent it from evaporating out of the wax prematurely (we used to suggest adding fragrance to soy wax at 130 degrees F).  However, our testing has shown us that fragrance needs to be added at a hotter temperature so that the fragrance properly binds with the soy wax.  Heavier fragrances containing vanilla can be added to the hot soy wax at around 185 degrees F; while we suggest adding lighter, lower flash point fragrances such as citrus type fragrances, at 160 degrees F.  Citrus type fragrances can break down at high temps; this is why we suggest adding them to the hot wax at this lower temp.

Soy Wax has a natural frosting look.  In order to reduce this frosting look on the tops of your candles, apply heat to finished candles with a hot hair dryer.

Exceptional Customer Service

I had to write a review as this company is true to their customer service. I am in Michigan and have been using a company for over 5 years. I had been using GW 444 for more than 5 years. During the last Christmas season, I was sold GW 415 and told it was the same. Long story short my customers began to tell me it was a noticeable difference. I searched online to find information on the difference and came across the detailed article on Nature's Garden's website that perfectly explained the difference between the two. The site went on to give a number to call for any questions. I called and got all of my questions answered. I had to call a different company to get the proper answers to my questions.Though not a customer they were gracious. I will be supporting them in the soon future!

Love this wax!

I chose the 444 soy wax because I live in Florida and have to consider the heat (this wax isn't as soft as the 464), and also because I wanted to have the option of putting in the maximum 12% fragrance load. I'm a newb, but one who likes to research things very thoroughly before beginning. So, I wasn't unaware of the pros and cons of the other waxes. This soy turns out great, even for someone inexperienced. I do heat my jars on 170 degrees in 1/2" of water for a few minutes, and once in a while might have to lightly hit the tops with a heat gun, only because I'm a perfectionist, they're pretty smooth after pouring. The scent throw compared to another wax would be hard for me to judge since I've only used one other soy product which I suspect was a 415. It was a craft store version and was very lumpy on top. But I will say, although some FO's were lighter, I've had to move a very small 12 oz. candle out of the room when it was burning with a stronger FO because it was pretty intense, and had others that were very powerful lit or unlit, so I think the hot and cold throw are fine. To me, if a fragrance isn't strong, why bother? That speaks to how strong the hot throw was for those amazing fragrances and this wax.
