Step 1: First, we will prepare the clothespin embeds for the top of the candle. So, we will prepare clothespins in both pink and blue using Pillar of Bliss Candle Wax. We will start with the pink clothespins.
Step 2: Add 1 ounce of the Pillar of Bliss Candle Wax to your pouring pot. Use a double boiler to melt the wax. While you are waiting for the candle wax to melt, get your mold ready.
Step 3: Now, once your wax is melted, add a very small amount of the pink color block. Mix well to incorporate the color. Be sure the color block is fully blended with the wax before moving on.
Step 4: Weigh out and add your fragrance oil. Add 0.1 ounce of Fresh Linen Fragrance Oil to melted wax and stir.
Step 5: Pour the melted wax into the clothespins mold. Once they have set up completely, carefully pop them out of the mold. Note: This recipe makes extra clothespins. However, these can be used as wax melts in your tart burner. Repeat the previous steps to create the blue clothespins, using a small amount of a blue color block this time.
Step 6: Next, prepare the first pink layer of Joy Wax. Weigh out 4.5 ounces of Joy Wax. Add your Joy Wax to your pouring pot. Once again, melt the wax in a double boiler.
Step 7: Add a small amount of a pink color block to the candle wax at the hottest temperature. Stir to incorporate the color completely.
Step 8: Now, add your Fresh Linen Fragrance Oil. Add 0.4 ounces of this fresh fragrance oil to the melted wax and stir.
Step 9: Adhere two CD-12 candle wicks to the bottom of your apothecary jar. You will want to make sure they are equally spaced and centered.
Step 10: Pour the pink layer of wax into the jar. Pour slowly and carefully as you do not want to splash the wax along the sides. I find pouring the wax towards the center of the jar lessens the chances of splashing. Before moving on, allow this layer of wax to completely setup at room temperature.
Step 11: Prepare the white layer of the candle. Again, using Joy Wax and a double boiler, weigh out and melt 4.5 ounces of the container candle wax.
Step 12: Add 0.4 ounces of Fresh Linen Fragrance Oil to the melted wax. Stir to blend the scent with the candle wax.
Step 13: Pour the white candle wax into the candle jar directly on top of the pink layer of candle wax. Allow the white layer to fully setup before moving on.
Step 14: Prepare your blue layer. Once again, use a double boiler to melt 4.5 ounce of Joy Wax.
Step 15: Once melted, add a very small amount of your blue color block. Mix very well to make sure the color block is fully dispersed.
Step 16: Weigh out and add 0.4 ounces of Fresh Linen Fragrance Oil. Stir the wax to completely blend the fragrance oil.
Step 17: Pour the blue candle wax directly on top of the white layer. Allow this layer to setup completely before moving to the next step.
Step 18: Finally, we will prepare the whipped portion of the candle. As you have done in previous steps, weigh and melt 8 ounces of Joy Wax.
Step 19: Add 0.8 ounces of the Fresh Linen Fragrance Oil. Stir to incorporate the fragrance oil.
Step 20: This time let the wax set up a bit before topping the candle. You want the wax to be slushy in appearance. Then, mix or whip the wax until it is a thick, fluffy frosting consistency. Place the whipped wax on top of the candle. Make sure you remember to keep your wicks centered while topping the candle.
Step 21: Lastly, place clothespins on top of the candle and curl your candle wicks.
Once cured, trim your wicks and your Fresh Linen Candle will be ready to burn. Enjoy!
