Did you know? Anjou is a gorgeous pear that comes in two color varieties of green and red. It is a common belief that the red variety provides a creamier taste over the green. The reason for Anjou's popularity is because physically it looks as to how we perceive the perfect pear, smooth and beautiful. The Anjou pear is extremely difficult to ripen. This is due to the fact that the Anjou does not change color like the Bartlett.
