Clean and sanitize your workstation and all of your packaging materials and utensils. It is suggested that you wear gloves, an apron, gloves, a face mask, and a hair net while preparing this recipe.
Step 1: First, in one of your pots, heat your water. You will want to heat it to at least 180F and hold for 20 minutes to destroy any bacteria. Remove from heat and set aside. Keep in mind, you will have some evaporation. So, you will want to heat extra water so that you will have 784 grams when you are finished.
Step 2: Using a double boiler, melt the stearic acid, emulsifying wax, shea butter, mango butter, sunflower oil, apricot oil, safflower oil, and coconut oil.
Step 3: When both the water and pot containing the melted oils, butters, and waxes are at 140 degrees Fahrenheit combine them. Use a stick blender to emulsify them.
Step 4: Finally, when the ingredients are at about 120 degrees Fahrenheit, add the fragrance oil, vitamin E oil, and Optiphen. Once again, use your stick blender to incorporate the ingredients together.
Step 5: Allow the cream to come to room temperature, stick blending periodically as it is cooling. As it cools it will continue to thicken.
Step 6: Place the body cream in the jars. Put a lid on each jar.
Your Alpine Snowdrift Lotion is now ready to use!
